"There is no point in negotiating with Ukraine in the current situation."

According to APA, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this in an interview with RT and RIA Novosti while commenting on the process of negotiations with Kyiv.

He said that during the meeting with the leaders of Turkey and Iran in Tehran, Russian President Vladimir Putin touched upon the issue of Ukraine.

The minister emphasized that at the very beginning of the special operations, the leadership of Ukraine was in favor of the negotiations: "We did not refuse, we approached this process correctly.

And the first rounds that took place in Belarus showed that there is no desire on the part of Ukraine to seriously discuss anything.

At that time, we presented them with our assessment of the situation and said that if you want to work seriously, give it to us in writing so that we know exactly what kind of negotiations will be discussed."

According to the head of the MFA, the Ukrainian side presented its wishes in written form and these principles were appreciated by Russia.

Lavrov was ready to conclude an agreement based on these principles of the Moscow side: "We presented documents based on their logic.

And since April 15, the document was given to them, since then they have not heard from them."

The minister noted that instead of Kiev's response, European leaders made statements such as "Ukraine should win on the battlefield, and should not sit at the negotiating table in the current situation, because their position on the front is weak."
