The Government of Kosovo, in the meeting held today, approved the Draft Law on sanctions for foreign violators of human rights.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the draft law aims to support democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights in accordance with the principles of international law.

"The Republic of Kosovo is the first country in the region to regulate this issue", he said.

"The draft law will be applied to foreigners who are responsible or assist in the commission of serious violations of human rights and serious acts of corruption that result in the abuse of human rights."
