In the year 2020, 796 cases were registered across the country under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

In this, 80 people were convicted while 116 were acquitted.

Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai gave this information in reply to a written question in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

According to the information given by the Minister of State for Home, 922 cases were registered under UAPA in the year 2016, out of which 24 were convicted and 19 were acquitted.

In the same sequence, in the year 2017 901 (39 convicted and 42 acquitted), in the year 2018 1182 (35 convicted and 117 acquitted) and in the year 2019 1227 cases (34 convicted and 116 acquitted) cases were registered. were done.

In 2020, 796 cases of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) were registered across the country.
