External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has called an all-party meeting on the Sri Lankan crisis.

India's neighboring country Sri Lanka has been facing economic and political crisis for the past several months.

Keeping this crisis in mind, the central government called an all-party meeting on Tuesday.

In this meeting, External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar said that India's eyes are on the entire situation in Sri Lanka.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that Sri Lanka is facing a very serious crisis, which naturally worries India.

On the question of the coming of such a crisis in India, he completely dismissed it.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi attended the meeting on behalf of the government, while Congress's P. Chidambaram and Manickam Tagore from the opposition, Sharad Pawar from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and T.R. .Balu and MM Abdullah were involved.

Jaishankar said, "The reason we have requested all of you to participate in the all-party meeting is that this is a very serious crisis and what we are seeing in Sri Lanka is unprecedented in many ways."

He said, 'This matter pertains to a close neighbor and being so close to it, we are naturally concerned about the consequences.' Jaishankar said that there are many wrong comparisons about Sri Lanka and some people are asking whether Such a situation can come in India.

He called it a wrong comparison.

He said, 'The lesson to come from Sri Lanka is very strong. These lessons are financial prudence, responsible governance and there should not be a culture of freebies.'

The meeting was attended by M Thambidurai of AIADMK, Saugata Roy of Trinamool Congress, Farooq Abdullah of National Conference, Sanjay Singh of Aam Aadmi Party, Keshava Rao of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Ritesh Pandey of Bahujan Samaj Party, Vijayasai Reddy of YSR Congress and Vaiko of MDMK etc. took part.

Sri Lanka is facing the most severe economic crisis in the past seven decades, with foreign exchange constraints hampering imports of essential commodities including food, fuel and medicines.

The situation arising out of the economic crisis after the fierce demonstrations against the government has also given rise to a political crisis in the country.

Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe has declared a state of emergency in the country.

Tamil Nadu parties Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) demanded India's intervention in Sri Lanka's matter during an all-party meeting called on Sunday ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament.
