The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, were scheduled to meet today in Brussels, within the framework of the dialogue, but this meeting did not take place.

Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi yesterday while reporting to the Commission for European Integration announced that the arrangement of this meeting has failed, saying that President Vucic has not shown readiness for a meeting.

"The idea was to prepare the ground for the next meeting, maybe this week, tomorrow, between the two heads of state, but this has failed due to Mr. Vucic's unwillingness to go to Brussels.

"Mr. Kurti has declared himself ready to start the discussion on the comprehensive agreement as soon as possible, but Vucic cited the visit of the Egyptian president, who is expected to stay in Serbia for three days," said Bislimi.

Regarding the failure of this meeting, the Prime Minister Albin Kurti's office also said that the "culprit" of the failure of this meeting was the Serbian president.

This is what the spokesperson of the Government, Pëparim Kryeziu, told Telegrafin through a written answer.

"Prime Minister Kurti has expressed his readiness for a high-level political meeting as he has expressed his readiness for it to be held this month.

Even Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi stayed in Brussels last week to prepare the ground for a meeting at the level of heads of state.

This meeting has failed due to the lack of readiness on the part of Serbia for such a meeting, expressed on the one hand through pressure to change the agenda of the trilateral meeting at the level of chief negotiators and on the other hand the reasoning that the meeting cannot be held because of the visit of the President of Egypt in Serbia", said Kryeziu.

He added that these actions of Serbia are aimed at sabotaging the dialogue process.

"These actions of Serbia are in the wake of actions aimed at sabotaging the dialogue process.

Whereas Prime Minister Kurti, in addition to his readiness for meetings, he has already expressed his readiness and interest in starting discussions on the comprehensive agreement as soon as possible", said Kryeziu.

Telegraph has also sent questions to the European Union to see when there might be another meeting, and how they see the failure of the meeting announced for today.

The bearers of the dialogue, the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, have not met in Brussels since July 2021.

So far, they have held only two meetings and both have not brought any concrete results.

We remind you that the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia started as early as 2011, with the mediation of the European Union and the support of the United States.
