The rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Viola von Cramon, has said that if the European Union wants to be globally reliable, it should start getting closer to the Western Balkans.

On the fourth anniversary when the European Commission confirmed for the second time that Kosovo has met all the criteria for visa waiver, Von Cramon said that the EU should immediately waive visas for Kosovars.

She did this through a post on Twitter.

"If the EU wants to be credible globally, it should start offering mainly in the Western Balkans.

To restore our credibility, the delayed visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens must be granted immediately.

The time is now and the EU Council must submit it without delay!", Von Cramon wrote.

If #EU 🇪🇺 wants to be credible globally, it has to start delivering primarily in the #WesternBalkans.

To restore our credibility, 🇪🇺 should immediately grant the long overdue #visaliberalisation to #Kosovo citizens.

The time is now & @EUCouncil should deliver it without delay!
