Story of Monday of Sawan |

sawan ke somvar ki katha

According to the story of Monday of Sawan (sawan ke somvar ki katha), a merchant lived at some place.

He was a great devotee of Lord Shiva.

All the people of the city respected him.

He had a happy life, but he had no children of his own.

Because of which he was always sad.

The moneylender used to worship Lord Shiva duly on every Monday with the desire to have a child.

It is said that by giving Shiva-bhakti to the moneylender, Mother Parvati told Shiva that she was a great devotee of Shiva.

On every Monday, fast and worship with full devotion.

But still why don't you fulfill his wish.

On this matter of Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva said that O Parvati - "This moneylender does not have children, I cannot do anything for this".

Hearing this, Mother Parvati asked Shiva to grant the moneylender the boon of having children.

After which Lord Shiva granted the moneylender the boon of having children.

But also told him that his child's age would be only 12 years.

After a few days as a boon of Lord Shiva, the moneylender's wife became pregnant and a beautiful child was born from her womb.

Sahukar was very happy to know this good news, but he remembered what Shiva had said.

That's why he used to remain unhappy even after getting a son.

After this he did not tell his wife.

When the moneylender's son was attained at the age of 11, his wife asked her to do child marriage of her son.

On which the moneylender said that he would send his son to Kashi to study.

He will get married only after getting education.

The moneylender sent his son along with his maternal uncle to Kashi.

While leaving the son, the moneylender said that wherever he stops on the way to Kashi, proceed only after performing yagya and feeding Brahmins.

The moneylender's son went ahead while offering yagya and food to the Brahmins on the way.

Further he saw that the princess was getting married.

The prince with whom the princess was getting married was an ear of an eye.

When the eyes of the father of the princess fell on the son of the moneylender, he thought why not marry the princess to that child.

The king shared his thoughts with the child's maternal uncle.

This suggestion of the king was accepted by the child's maternal uncle and he got his nephew married to that princess.

After marriage, he wrote on the pallu of the princess's chunari - You are married with me, but will send you with the prince.

After writing this, the moneylender's son went to Kashi with his maternal uncle.

When the princess opened her chunri, after reading the things written on it, she refused to go with that prince.

After reaching Kashi, the maternal uncle and nephew were doing a yagna in their house.

At the same time, the nephew's health deteriorated.

That day the boy did not come out of the room.

When his uncle went inside the room and saw, his nephew had lost his life.

But Mama did not tell this to anyone.

He finished all the work of Yagya and fed the Brahmins.

After this his pain did not stop and he started moaning.

Coincidentally, Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati were going on the same route.

Hearing the sound of crying, Mother Parvati asked Shiva who was crying.

Lord Shiva said that it is mourning the death of the son of the same moneylender.

Whose age was only 12 years old.

Then Mother Parvati asked Shiva to donate life to the merchant's son.

Lord Shiva said that the age of the moneylender's son was the same.

Hearing the words of Shiva, Mother Parvati repeatedly urged God to donate life to that child.

On the request of Mother Parvati, Shiva donated his life to the son of the moneylender.

After which both maternal uncle and nephew returned to their homes.

On the way the city was found where the moneylender's son was married.

There both of them were very well received.

The king sent his daughter away from the moneylender's son with a lot of money.

On the other hand, the moneylender and his wife were sitting thinking that if their son did not return, they would lay down their lives.

It is said that when the moneylender came to know that his son was coming back, he could not believe it.

But later he gave a grand welcome and hospitality to his son and daughter-in-law and thanked Lord Shiva.

In the night, Lord Shiva gave dreams to the moneylender and said 'I am very happy with your worship.

He will read this story in Monday fast, all his wishes will be fulfilled.
