The interest of political parties to enter the Municipal Council has increased and now three more lists have been initiated in connection with the last elections in 2021.

"According to the SEC deadline, the deadline for submission of lists for members of the Tetova Municipality Council expired on July 15 at 24:00 and 13 lists were submitted to the Municipal Electoral Commission, of which 11 were from political parties and two from the list of Group of voters.

From the political parties that have submitted the lists are: DUI, PDSH, Alternativa, Alliance for Albanians, Lévizja Besa, OBRM-PDUKM, LSDM, Partia Integra, E Majta, PCER, PDT as well as two lists of the Group of voters where one of the carriers is Elmedina Abdullai, while in the second Agon Zaimi", declared Nazmi Dauti, secretary of the MEC.

The elections will be held during the tourist season when part of the population takes advantage of the summer vacations and it is unknown what the turnout will be, but according to Dauti, when the elections for the municipal council are in question, there is no census and the election is carried out without distinction how many citizens will vote.

"However, I hope that there will be a way out and that the citizens will realize their right to citizenship and the right to vote", said Dauti.

The election campaign starts twenty days before the holding of the elections, while it ends 24 hours before the day of holding the elections.

The MEC in Tetovo covers 117 polling stations, while the total number of voters will be known after the closing of the electoral list, which is open for updating until July 20.

Elections for the Municipal Council are being organized in this municipality again after the Council failed to approve the final Account of the municipality in time and according to the law on Local Government, the Government dissolved the Council, while the Speaker of the Assembly announced the elections for August 20 this year.
