An earthquake with a magnitude of 6 on the Richter scale shook the area of ​​the Ecuadorian coastal city of Guayaquil, the European-Mediterranean Seismic Center reported, Reuters reported.



The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 57 kilometers.

No casualties or damage were reported in the South American country, TASS adds.
