The Nationalist Congress Party on Friday criticized Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for the approval given to the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project and said that the Chief Minister should be connected with the state. Issues should be given more attention.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said Shinde had given all approvals to expedite the project, which was shelved by the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi-led government of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress.

NCP chief spokesperson Mahesh Taapse said, "The illegal government of Eknath Shinde has shown speed in approving the bullet train project." Where are the most municipal corporations.

"Instead of bowing before the neighboring state of Gujarat, Shinde should focus more on the issues related to the state and Thane district so that urban problems can be resolved," Taapsee said.

The estimated cost of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is Rs 1,10,000 crore, of which Rs 88,000 crore is being funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

More than 70 percent of the land required for the project in Maharashtra

Has been acquired in Thane and Palghar districts.
