Faik Hoti, spokesman for the Ministry of Health, said that the increase in the number of infected people in Kosovo was expected, because according to him this happened in almost all the countries of the region.

The increase in cases of infection with COVID-19, according to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Faik Hoti, has been warned and also expected by this ministry.

Hoti, on RTV Dukagjini, said that with the increase in cases in the countries of the region, it is expected that the same thing will happen in Kosovo.

"Given that many different countries in Europe and the world have had an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases, an increase that has also been reflected in the countries of the region, this increase in cases has been warned and expected". said Hoti.

Some of the reasons that may have raised this number of infections, according to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, are the movements of citizens from one state to another, but also other factors such as the rate of people vaccinated against the coronavirus.

He said that the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that citizens be vaccinated because in this way the likelihood of spreading the virus is minimized.

"It may be due to the movement of the population from one country to another, but also to other factors, the more the society is vaccinated, the possibility of the spread of infection is reduced, while there are many countries in the world that have extremely high rates low vaccination rate.

WHO says that in a country, if there is a small number of vaccinated people, it risks the spread of the virus in other countries as well", said Hoti.

Further, Hoti called on citizens to get vaccinated, especially with the third dose of immunization, because according to him this is the best protection against Covid-19.

According to him, the measures in force are not being respected and monitored sufficiently.

"I call on the citizens to respect the measures, one of them is to ask for a vaccination card in public institutions or in gastronomy, it is recommended to wear masks indoors, these measures are not being implemented properly", he said. he continued.

In the end, Hoti warned that the number of infected could increase even more in the coming days./
