The European Commissioner for Enlargement and Good Neighbor Policy, Oliver Varhelyi, visited the coastal city of Vlora today to inspect some works financed by the European Union.

Asked by journalists, he also spoke about Albania and Macedonia's journey towards the EU.

"Today our eyes and ears are directed towards Skopje and we must hold a democratic debate.

You saw that the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, made a direct, special contribution.

Let the debate take place there and then let us state our positions", said Commissioner Varhelyi.

As for Albania, according to Varhely, it did everything to reach the first intergovernmental conference.

"I believe that next week will be the week we have been waiting for so long", Varhelyi added.

We remind you that the plenary session for the French proposal in the Assembly of Macedonia is expected to continue tomorrow starting at 11:00.
