Sri Lanka Crisis: Ukraine blames Russia

Kyiv:

The President of Ukraine

, Volodimir Zelensky

has been held responsible for

 the crisis

in Sri Lanka  .

Zelensky said that due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the supply of food and fuel has stopped in Sri Lanka and around the world.

Zelensky said Russia adopted a policy of "economic shock" during its invasion of Ukraine.

He also said that there has been a shortage of food and fuel in many countries because the disruption in the supply chain benefits Russia's agenda.

At the Asian Leadership Conference in Seoul, Zelensky emphasized the crisis in Sri Lanka, saying that the shocking rise in food and fuel prices triggered social exploitation.

No one knows how it will end now."

The war in Ukraine has left 1.6 billion people in 94 countries facing one of financial, food, or fuel crisis, and about 1.2 billion living in fear of danger in the most affected countries.

Amidst the ongoing protests in Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe has now become the acting President in Sri Lanka, but due to increasing violence and protests, he had to resign from his Prime Minister's post.

Sri Lanka is going through its worst economic crisis since independence in 1948.

The effect of corona virus has made it more dangerous.

Due to this, the development done in Sri Lanka over the years is going to be ruined.

Schools and government offices have had to be closed especially due to the lack of oil supply.

Agricultural production has come down and foreign exchange reserves are almost exhausted.

Along with this, due to the decrease in the price of the local currency, there has also been a shortage of essential goods.

Along with this, due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, the number of people sleeping hungry in the world is increasing.

The number of people living in severe food insecurity due to the Corona epidemic was 135 million.

But in two years this figure has reached 276 million.

Due to the impact of the Ukraine war, this figure could reach 323 million.

The leaders of the recently concluded G7 countries discussed the impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on food, energy supplies and the global economy.

At the same time, it was also said that this camp will help Ukraine in the production and export of food grains, fuel and other agricultural products.

He called on Russia to stop attacks on agricultural and transport infrastructure unconditionally, as well as to ensure the free arrival of ships loaded with Ukrainian agricultural products off the Black Sea coast.

Recently, an agreement between Russia and Ukraine will end the blockade on the supply of grain through the Black Sea.

UN Secretary-General Guterres said this would be an important step towards the safe export of Ukrainian products.
