The chairman of PDK, Memli Krasniqi, has accused the Government of inaction in relation to the crisis of rising prices in Kosovo.

The head of the PDK, through a post on Facebook, said that Kosovo is facing an inflation that it has not had since the war.

Krasniqi says that with the same money and income, the citizens cannot afford the increase in prices

"Unlike other countries, which have a more powerful economy and through government measures are facilitating the lives of their citizens, the citizens of Kosovo have remained at the mercy of fate."

He says that at the height of the rise in prices of all basic food products - the Prime Minister and the Government that he leads are not showing either vision, will or courage to take concrete measures to mitigate this situation.

"Unfortunately, the worst is yet to come for our economy and citizens.

Economic analyzes warn that the coming winter is expected to be extremely severe".

"The up to threefold increase in the price of energy, the increase in the price of fuel for heating, will be a very serious challenge for every family.

The prices of derivatives and food are not expected to decrease at all.

The pandemic is regaining its intensity, and, according to the actual situation, the possibility of salary increase is very small".

The head of the PDK says that the Government is already late to manage the situation we are in.

"These warnings should be enough for the Government to take emergency measures as early as today.

But no.

For the Prime Minister, who in the last 100 days has spent half of them abroad on personal excursions - without any results for Kosovo, more important are the tables of debates and barren meetings."

He says that the Democratic Party of Kosovo has long proposed the removal of the excise duty on oil and the VAT on food products.

"This is no longer just a proposal, but an urgent request that we are making to this Government to react.

The day is today.

The time is now.

You are already late", concluded Krasniqi./
