The former director of the Kosovo Police, deputy of the PDK, Rashit Qalaj has given details about the legal initiative for the early retirement of the Kosovo policemen.

Qalaj has warned that the draft law will be ready in the fall and he is waiting for approval in the Assembly of Kosovo.

Deputy Qalaj has expressed in RTK that he has the support of the position for his legal initiative, for the adoption of a law for early retirement in the ranks of the Kosovo Police.

According to him, the financial cost should not be an obstacle, because when the security of the country is in question, the state should be ready to make a solution.

About 1,500 members of the Police can benefit if this law is approved, while there are about 500 who have health problems, trauma and perform their police duties with difficulty.

Qalaj also spoke about the challenges that the Kosovo police are facing, starting from the lack of uniforms, shoes and the lack of health insurance.

He has called on the government to increase the salaries of police officers, who have been affected by the deep economic crisis.
