A high number of infections with COVID-19 has engulfed our country in recent days.

This situation has raised fears about the outbreak of a new wave of the coronavirus, writes Telegrafi.

Kosovo is not the only one facing such a situation, there has been an increase in cases of COVID-19 in the countries of the region and in the world.

Only during the past week, 2 thousand 7 new cases have been confirmed in our country, while three citizens have lost their lives.

The highest number of infections in the past week was on Friday when 407 cases were confirmed.

The number of active cases has reached 2,169.

Right now, there are still no warnings from health institutions in Kosovo about changing the anti-Covid measures, apart from calls for vaccination.

The Ministry of Health announced in an announcement a few days ago that it has approved receiving the fourth dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 for people over the age of 60, who received the third dose at least four months ago.

The Ministry of Health also announced that as a result of the increase in cases, the hospital load has also started to increase.

"The Ministry of Health, according to the measures in force, recommends citizens to wear protective masks in indoor spaces as well as vaccination with vaccine doses according to the age group allowed for vaccination.

The eventual change of the measures in force will be possible according to the recommendations of the relevant institutions and experts, depending on the epidemiological situation and projections about its development", it was stated in the announcement of the MOH.
