It is expected that EU-95 gasoline will become more expensive in Azerbaijan.

It is reported that the volatility of the price of oil in the world market causes the price of fuel to rise.

According to the opinion of experts, Azerbaijan does not produce EU-95 gasoline, it buys it from abroad. Due to the increase in the price of EU-95 in the world, Azerbaijan is forced to increase the price of that type of fuel.

Commenting on the subject to "APA-Economics", oil and gas expert Ilham Shaban said that the price of EU-95 gasoline was last increased on September 15 last year.

"At that time, the price of oil on the world market varied between 73-75 dollars.

Over the past ten months, the price of oil has increased by 50%.

This also necessitates an increase in price.

Since April 1, 2014, the price of high-octane gasoline in Azerbaijan is not regulated by the state.

In such a case, it is surprising that the price of gasoline remains stable.

The reality is that, although not by law, the state regulated the price at the expense of its own resources," he said.

The expert says that European countries have already started using EU-95 brand gasoline.

Manufacturers also require the use of EU-95 brand gasoline for new cars brought to Azerbaijan:

"Regarding the Chinese cars imported to Azerbaijan, the manufacturers have requested the use of EU-95 brand gasoline.

In other words, Ai-92 gasoline is gradually being abandoned."

The expert also spoke about the way out of the situation: "Taking into account the mass transition to EU-95 brand gasoline, work related to local production of this gasoline should be accelerated, and dependence on imports should be reduced in this area.

The Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev has been undergoing modernization for a long time.

These works should be accelerated, local production of high-octane gasoline should be started."

Economist expert Eldeniz Amirov also told "APA-Economics" that the increase in the price of AI-95 and other high-octane gasoline products is directly related to the general price increases in the world, including the increase in the price of oil.

He said that in the previous period, a certain amount of EU-95 gasoline was produced in Azerbaijan.

But it was not able to meet this domestic demand.

"Currently, EU-95 gasoline is imported to Azerbaijan mainly from Romania and Russia.

Therefore, the price increases in these countries have an effect on the price of high-octane gasoline as well," said Eldeniz Amirov.

The expert added that in addition to oil, in general, the increase in the cost of technological processes and the use of other resources for the purchase of EU-95 brand gasoline also leads to the increase in the price of this brand gasoline.
