On July 8, 2022, in the area of
Golden Sands, the body of a man whose identity was initially not clear was found.
From the investigative actions carried out under the supervision of a duty prosecutor from the District Prosecutor's Office-Varna, it became clear that the man was killed.
The cause of his death was mechanical asphyxia.
As a result of procedural - investigative actions and quick and successful operational - search measures by employees of the Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Varna, the identity of the murdered - a 45-year-old German tourist - was established, as well as the complicity of two people in the act.
In view of the collected evidence, a reasonable assumption was made that the authors of the crime were a 43-year-old citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany - the victim's wife, and S.R.
33 years old - Bulgarian citizen.
The two were brought to criminal liability and detained for a period of up to 72 hours with a view to bringing them before the court to determine a measure of remand.
The supervising prosecutor's request to impose the most severe remand measure, "custodial detention," is pending before the court.
Work on the case continues.
