Tons of food with pesticides entered our country through the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing.

This was stated by the Executive Director of the BBAH Prof. Hristo Daskalov in the program "On Focus" on Nova TV.

"The breach in the system at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint has one explanation, and that is money," he pointed out.

Three inspectors did not come to work during the audit of the "Capitan Andreevo" checkpoint, they are being threatened

"110,000 trucks loaded with 20 tons of food produce pass through this point every year.

70,000 of them are subject to fino-sanitary control.

Huge funds come from every single truck.

When the laboratory control is also carried out, the amount exceeds BGN 180,000 per truck.

Imagine the volumes of funds if you controlled this activity.

Only 10 percent of them entered the state," said Daskalov

"According to the company, about 1.5-2% of the samples that were tested were positive.

According to our data, 10% of the samples tested positive for pesticides.

We have tested 800 samples, 80 of them are positive.

There are 10 tons behind each sample.

This means that tons of food with pesticides entered our country.

There is no other explanation", commented the executive director of the BBAH.

All authorities have been notified in connection with the case.

Regarding the threats against him, he said: “I'm used to going around with security.

My relatives are worried about me.

I'm a little bit nervous.

I take the threat philosophically.

This is a part of this dangerous game that some people have been playing in Bulgaria for tens of years," said the Executive Director of the BABH Prof. Hristo Daskalov.
