The Kosovo Police has stopped an illegal race that was being held on the Trudë-Mazgit highway and has punished 46 people involved.

The news was announced for the Telegraph by the spokesperson of the Kosovo Police, Daut Hoxha.

"The Kosovo Police, the Unit for Highway Control, after receiving information that an illegal car race is being prepared on the Trudë - Mazgit highway, has undertaken the necessary legal actions and measures for the prevention and enforcement of legality.

At 16:30, a number of vehicles and pedestrians began to gather as spectators.

The relevant units from the north police station and the rapid response units in Pristina have been notified and they have responded to this event.

During the engagement, police units were coordinated and the following measures were taken;

a total of 46 misdemeanors were pronounced, 36 misdemeanors for drivers and 10 misdemeanors for pedestrians", said Hoxha.

"Police units and those for highway surveillance remained in a state of readiness and depending on the developments on the ground, the necessary legal measures will be taken to guarantee the applicability of the traffic law and adequate road safety", he concluded./Telegrafi/
