The Chairman of the Government of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, today held an online meeting with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić and the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, dedicated to the intensification of cooperation for the common overcoming of difficulties in the supply of food and energy, as well as for jointly face possible fires in all three countries this summer.

The leaders agreed on the creation of mixed cross-sectoral working groups on crisis topics and with the aim of creating a joint agency for attracting foreign investment in the Open Balkans.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Ministers for European Affairs and Economic Affairs, Bojan Maricic and Fatmir Bytyqi, the national coordinator for the Open Balkans, Marjan Zabërçanec, the director of JSC "Electranat e North Macedonia", Vasko Kovacevski and Branko Azeski, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of North Macedonia.

Prime Minister Kovacevski expressed gratitude for the open support that President Vučić and Prime Minister Rama have expressed regarding the modified European proposal, informing that the proposal-negotiating framework for the Republic of North Macedonia with the European Union represented by the French presidency of the EU, The government forwarded it to the Assembly for consideration and approval of further conclusions, in accordance with the procedures of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Rama and Vucic separately reiterated their support for the activities undertaken by Prime Minister Kovacevski, namely the opening of wide consultations with social actors in the country, stressing that the European future of the region is the only good opportunity for the citizens of North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia.

In today's meeting, the leaders of the Open Balkans initiative emphasized the importance of the activities undertaken to exploit the regional connection and to enable the free movement of people, capital, goods and services, which already offers economic benefits to all citizens.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that preparations for the big wine, food and tourism fair in Serbia are going well, in which wineries and wine producers from the three countries will have the opportunity to present their products to guests from the region and Europe.
