The Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, expressed his shock at the murder of the former Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.

Kurti wrote in a post on Twitter that Abe was an outstanding leader of Japan and a wonderful friend of Kosovo.

"We are saddened and shocked by the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Prime Minister Abe was an outstanding leader of Japan and a wonderful friend of Kosovo.

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo and our people are praying for the family of former Prime Minister Abe, his friends and the people of Japan," writes Kurti.

Today in the morning, former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was killed during a speech given in a Japanese city.

We're saddened & shocked by the murder of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

PM Abe was an outstanding leader of Japan & wonderful friend to Kosovo.
