Viola von Cramon, the rapporteur in the European Parliament for Kosovo, has reacted after the call of a French MEP that visas should not be liberalized for Kosovar citizens.

During the day, Dominique Bilde asserted through social networks that "we reject the expansion of the EU with this country.

We also oppose the issuance of visas to many of their citizens!"

The German MEP reminded her counterpart that the majority of the members of the European Parliament support Kosovo's efforts for cooperation with the European Union.

She also asserted that Kosovo has met all the criteria for visa liberalization and "its citizens deserve, like all other Europeans, to move freely".

We remind you that the president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, has requested the liberalization of visas during the last summit between the countries of the Western Balkans and the EU.

Otherwise, France is the only country that has so far hesitated to say yes to the free movement of citizens of Kosovo, but which is reported to have recently moved towards unlocking its status.

Fortunately, the majority of our colleagues in @europarl_fr are plus scholars and support 🇽🇰 in their effort to cooperate with 🇪🇺. #Kosovo has fulfilled all the criteria of #visaliberalisation and its citizens deserve, like all other Europeans, they have to move freely.
