The criminal case related to the murder that happened 10 years ago in Baku has been sent to the court.

According to the information provided to APA by the General Prosecutor's Office, as reported, the preliminary investigation of the criminal case regarding the fact that the body of Jafar Mammadmehti Akhundov was found in the car on October 10, 2012 was completed at the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office.

Investigative and operative measures have established that on October 10, 2012, Shirinov Zohrab Shirin oglu saw that Jafar Akhundov, his acquaintance, was deprived of the opportunity to resist by falling into a state of drug intoxication, and using the pretext of a dispute between them on the basis of personal relationships, Jafar Akhundov's vital organs are located. He deliberately killed him by kicking him in the abdomen and chest, inflicting numerous injuries, and then, in order to hide the crime he had committed and to create the appearance of his own death, he put Jafar Akhundov's corpse in the back seat of the car and took it to the cemetery near the area called "Wolf's Gate" in Yasamal region, and put a syringe and placed a glass medicine container with traces of drugs in it and walked away from there.

Zohrab Shirinova was charged with articles 120.2.2 (murder with hooliganism) and 120.2.9 (killing a person who is clearly helpless for the guilty person) of the Criminal Code.

Currently, the criminal case has been sent to the relevant Baku Serious Crimes Court for consideration.
