The patrol units of the regional border directorate (DRK-Lindje) in implementation of measures to prevent and fight illegality have intensified tactical and operational controls in the field.

As a result of this, in the first case today on 06.07.2022, at around 17:10 in the village of Ramijan, municipality of Vitia, based on the analysis of the risk and the intelligence provided by the border police units, it was possible to identify the vehicle was a Mercedes Benz truck with Kosovar license plates, which was driven by a Kosovar male suspect with initials (H. K), year of birth 1971.

During the inspection, the police officials noticed that the suspect was loaded with fifty-seven (57) sheep in the trailer, for which he did not have any relevant documents.

In the second case, also today around 17:45 on the Viti-Pozhoran road, the municipality of Viti, it was possible to identify the Mitsubishi truck with Kosovar license plates, which was driven by the Kosovar male suspect with the initials (M. B), year of birth 1974.

During the inspection, the police officers noticed that the suspect had six (6) heads of cattle (cows) loaded in the trailer, for which he did not have relevant documents.

The animals are suspected to have entered the territory of the Republic of Kosovo through illegal routes from the Republic of North Macedonia.

These cases are in the process of being handled by the border police units from the border regional directorate-East in cooperation with the relevant Prosecutor's Office, Inspectors of the AVUK and Kosovo Customs.
