In the conference on "Inter-municipal cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and Iowa", Deputy Prime Minister Emilija Rexhepi encouraged the municipalities of our country to coordinate priorities with the cities of Iowa in the field of economy for a more sustainable economic development.

The Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj, has said that Kosovo's geographical position in relation to NATO offers opportunities for investment, especially in the defense industry, because as he emphasized, this sector must also be built.

"The bridges that you have built, not only in the Armed Forces of Kosovo, but also in communities, now also with mayors of municipalities, are strengthening the partnership for security and economy even more... Considering the geographical position of Kosovo in relationship with NATO, offers opportunities for investments, especially in the defense industry, because we have to build this as well.

Therefore, the increase in foreign direct investments is not only related to security, but also to the development of the economy", emphasized Mehaj.

Meanwhile, the retired Major General of the American Army, Tim Orr emphasized that the building of relations and relations between Kosovo and Iowa started years ago and this is a citizen diplomacy.

"Today's topic is 'Building relationships and relations', we have been successful for this for many years, but this is about the next step where we need to move, and we call this citizen diplomacy", he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, spoke about the economic growth trends in the Kurti Government and promised more security for foreign investments, which will have an impact on the increase in employment in Kosovo.

"To ensure the sustainability of investments, we have started with the revision of the Law on strategic investments, on Foreign Direct Investments, on economic zones, on tourism... Kosovo has been the country with the highest performance in the index of organized crime in the world, while now for 17 countries we have grown in terms of fighting organized crime", she emphasized

The mayor of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxheri, said that the twinning of Peja with the city of Johnston has been going on for nine years and is a positive example of cooperation.
