In Nizami district of Baku, 9 people were arrested who were engaged in selling drugs and organized opium dens for drug users.

APA was informed about this by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, a gang of 6 people engaged in illegal drug trafficking was detained by the officers of the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Nizami District Police Department during operations conducted in the last 1 week.

About 2 kilograms of highly effective cocaine, heroin, marijuana, opium, ecstasy and methadone pills, as well as methamphetamine, were found from them.

The detained persons said that they sold narcotics in Nizami district and other areas of the capital.

During another operation, 3 more people were arrested who organized an opium den in one of the apartments located on Bahruz Nuriyev street, Nizami district.

A large amount of heroin was found during the inspection of that address.

During the investigation, it was determined that

these people were engaged in the sale of drugs and organized an opium shop for drug users.

Criminal cases have been initiated in the Investigation Department of the Administration in connection with all the facts discovered.

On the territory of Nizami region, operations are being continued in the direction of exposing the persons involved in the illegal circulation of drugs.
