The Bulgarian prosecutor's office has sent a request for legal assistance to the British authorities to carry out investigative actions related to a case of prostitution.

This was announced to a BTA reporter by the spokesperson of the District Prosecutor's Office in Sliven Hristina Bletsova.

It is about the 43-year-old British citizen Daniel Hull, whom in 2019 the District Prosecutor's Office - Sliven handed over to court for committing lewd acts against eight boys in the Sliven neighborhood "Nadezhda".

Bletsova recalled that the proceedings for fornication were terminated because all the witnesses retracted their statements.

People from the neighborhood then even came out to protest in defense of Hull, who was a pastor there.

Requests have been made to the British authorities for investigative actions related to the questioning of witnesses abroad, but they have not yet been fulfilled, Bletsova pointed out, and the case is pending.

They confirmed the 10-year sentence of a Frenchman for fornication and creating pornographic materials in our country

In 2016, the man was wanted on a European Arrest Warrant from the UK in connection with a sex crime investigation.

Meanwhile, the District Court in Sliven reported that Daniel Hull was sentenced for tax crimes - he failed to declare and pay tax liabilities in large amounts - BGN 3,774. After paying the undeclared tax liability with interest, he was released from criminal liability and he was fined BGN 1,000.
