"The organization confirmed that an official letter with such a request was received at the beginning of this week," added the media.

"The question of what measures the Jewish state will take will be decided by Yair Lapid's government," the agency told the newspaper.

"We hope that this issue will be resolved," the organization added.

"The request of the government in Moscow may prevent many Russian citizens of Jewish origin from moving to Israel.
