A case has been registered against filmmaker Leena Manimekalai in the controversial poster case of "Film Kali" in Lucknow and Gonda districts.
According to police sources, a case has been registered against filmmaker Leena Manimekalai, producer Asha Associates and editor Shravan Onachan at Hazratganj Kotwali in Lucknow.
Against them sections 120-B (conspiracy), 153-B (making speeches which are prejudicial to national unity), 295 (insulting any class of religion), 298 (words intended to hurt religious feelings) A case has been registered under various sections including utterance) and sections 66 and 67 of the Information Technology Act.
In Gonda, a lawyer named Ritesh has filed a case for hurting the sentiments of people of Hindu religion.
Apart from this, a complaint has been lodged with the police in the same case in Lakhimpur Kheri district.
Significantly, filmmaker Leena Manimekalai shared the poster of the film 'Kaali' on social media on July 2.
In this poster, a woman wearing the form of Maa Kali is shown smoking a cigarette.
Apart from this, there are some other objectionable things in it as well.
There is a widespread protest against this poster.

Who is Leena Manimekalai
Leena Manimekalai is born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
He is a Toronto based filmmaker from Canada.
Along with being a filmmaker, she is also an actress and poet.
Leena started her career as an assistant director.
She has assisted many mainstream filmmakers.
Leena made a film named Mathamma in 2002 about the Devadasi system.
Leena was opposed by her own family, including the Arundhatiyar community, regarding this film.
After this, in 2004, Leena made a documentary film Parai on violence against Dalit women.
There was a lot of ruckus on this film too.
But Leena stood firm and made the feature film Sengdal in the year 2011.
It was based on the story of fishermen stranded between India and Sri Lanka, with focus on the Tamil Nadu city of Dhanushkodi.
