From July 7, the payment of pensions begins, following the new increase that came into effect at the beginning of this month.

On the date, the money will be transferred to the pensioners' cards.

This was assured by the manager of the National Social Security Institute, Ivaylo Ivanov, during an information day dedicated to the changes in the pension legislation in 2022.

Older people who collect their pensions and supplements from post offices will be able to collect them between 7 and 22 July.

The money will be given according to a schedule announced in advance in each of the stations.

"For the first time, the pensions that will be paid in July, the average pension will be in the amount of BGN 670. Also, this increase will be close to 23.6 compared to June 2022, without taking into account the additional amounts and about 10 percent will be increased the pensions of all persons, which if we take into account, of course, the BGN 60 and any supplements that were paid to the various types of pensions," noted the head of the National Institute of Social Sciences.

From today, the minimum pension becomes BGN 467, and the maximum - BGN 2,000.

"The net amount of the pension without the covid supplements, without the compensatory differences that have been paid, is increased by 10 per 100. The amount thus obtained is increased by including the covid supplement of BGN 60 and the individual compensatory difference, if the person received one ", added Lyubomira Yazadzhieva - Director of the Pensions Directorate.

Maria Petrova from Blagoevgrad has been a pensioner for many years.

He takes BGN 314, calculating that even after the 10 percent increase, the money will still be very little.

"BGN 100 plus electricity, BGN 15 water, the satellite - BGN 50, the phone - BGN 20 and when you add them up... Now since April 1st I've also had basal disease, the thyroid gland and I gave BGN 206 from the last pension for medicines . For 5 months I have to undergo basic hormone tests in order to live, otherwise I have to breathe with a pump," explains the woman.

Older people on low pensions, like Maria, are hoping to get another increase after the planned recalculation of pensions in October.

It should lead to a rise in the incomes of over 715,000 people.

"The recalculation from October 1 will cover much fewer people, but its purpose is to compensate for the old pensions, to pull the old pensions more than the new ones, so that their lag over the years is compensated. Everything depends on the history of the pension, whether in the years the pensioner worked, whether he recalculated with additional experience and income acquired after retirement, or whether he did not touch it after it was released," commented Lyubomira Yazadzhieva, Pensions Directorate.

After the recalculation in October, the average pension is expected to reach BGN 722.
