From July 1, the minimum wage in Turkey became 6,471 Turkish lira (to 725 leva), which is an increase of 30 percent, Turkish media reported, BTA informed.

At the end of last week, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the gross minimum wage in the country will be 6,471 Turkish lira (respectively, the net remuneration is 5,500 Turkish lira - 616 leva).

In January, the minimum wage in the country was increased by 50 percent.

Then the minimum wage reached a net value of 4,250 pounds.

We have never turned a blind eye to the problems our citizens are experiencing in their daily lives due to the significant increase in prices and inflation, Erdogan said.

Inflation is the main problem not only of Turkey, but also of the whole world, the president added.
