A gunman has killed three people and wounded several others, three of them critically, in one of Denmark's largest shopping malls, police say.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged for the attack that caused panic among shoppers at the Field shopping center in the south of Copenhagen, Telegraph reports.

The chief of police, Soeren Thomassen, emphasized that the motive was unclear and he could not rule out an "act of terrorism".

While Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that Denmark had suffered a cruel attack.

Sending condolences to those who had lost loved ones, she said she wanted to encourage Danes to stick together and support each other in this difficult time.

Meanwhile, footage has emerged that is said to show the moment a gunman "walked" through a shopping center in Denmark with a rifle slung over his shoulder before killing innocent bystanders in a shocking act.
