An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale was recorded at 1:56 p.m. today in the seismic region of Vranca in northeastern Romania, Agerpress reports, citing data from the National Institute of Geodynamics.

The quake, whose epicenter was in Buzău County, was at a depth of 130 kilometers. 

This is the second earthquake in Vranca today, after a magnitude 3 earthquake on the Richter scale was recorded at 7:12 a.m.

Since the beginning of July, four earthquakes with a magnitude between 2.4 and 4.1 on the Richter scale have occurred in Romania, the agency reminds.

The strongest earthquake this year was on January 16 and had a magnitude of 4.4, BTA recalls.
