Ireland's Minister of State for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne, has said that his country supports Kosovo for visa liberalization and membership in international organizations.

In a media conference after the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, he said that he hopes that Kosovo will receive visa liberalization and membership in NATO.

"Ireland supports visa liberalization.

We have good relations with Britain and from time to time we have difficulties.

Recently there are some difficulties but we find ways to maintain peace in Ireland and today we lead several European institutions.

The Council of Europe is an important organization for states' rights.

The government is seeking membership and it is an assurance to the citizens that this government is serious about human rights and we will work to ensure an acceptable journey", said Byrne.

He also mentioned the difficult path of reconciliation that the Republic of Ireland had with Northern Ireland.

"We in Ireland know that it can be a difficult road to reconciliation.

It requires patience and any peace agreement has compromises for all sides.

This was also in the agreement we had with Northern Ireland.

We've had some issues with the Northern Ireland Constitution as well and we've waived some issues," Byrne said.
