The Russian army has taken control of the Lugansk region of Ukraine.

According to APA's Moscow correspondent, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported on this to President Vladimir Putin today.

"Sergei Shoigu reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin about the liberation of the Luhansk People's Republic," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

It should be noted that before that, the city of Lisichansk was the only city in the Lugansk region that remained under the control of Ukraine, and the Russian army focused on securing control over this city.
