The Kosovo Police in the region of Peja has given details about the fire that engulfed a house in this city today.

In the press release, the police announced that around 08:40 they were informed about a case of fire on the "Emperor Justinian" street in Peja, where an annex (a private warehouse that possessed motor oil) was involved in the fire.

Immediately, the police units of the Police Station and the regional Police Directorate in Peja responded to the scene, and assessing that the fire could also start in other residential buildings/houses, they also notified the fire brigade, which arrived very quickly. event.

"Despite the quick intervention of the Police and firefighters from Peja and the surrounding towns as well as from KFOR, this fire caused significant damage, because in addition to the motor oil depot, three residential houses were also damaged, as there were many close to each other", the announcement states.

The police emphasize that after a great and very professional work of these units, the fire was brought under control after a while, while further police units are working at the scene in coordination with the State Prosecutor, in order to collect evidence to proceed and investigate how this fire came about.

This case, by order of the State Prosecutor, was initiated as "Creation of General Risk", and is being processed by the Regional Crime Investigation Unit.
