The Kosovo Police Union has reacted after the incident that happened last night in Skenderaj, where a police officer was injured by a firearm, and another was injured by heavy equipment.

It is suspected that the former vice-president of Skenderaj, Nuredin Lushtaku, was involved in this incident along with some of his family members.

The Police Union, in its response to the media, has requested from the justice bodies that the suspected persons be dealt with according to the law.

"The Kosovo Police Union is concerned about the attack on two police officers in Skenderaj, in which case one of them was injured by a firearm and the other by a strong tool while on duty.

We ask the justice bodies to act according to the law for the suspected persons!

We are closely following the situation and will react according to the information we will provide.

We wish the police officers, who are undergoing medical treatment, a speedy recovery", says the union's reaction.

Two policemen were injured in Skenderaj on Saturday after midnight.

As reported by the Police, they were injured at a checkpoint.

"On 02.07.2022, at around 11:55 p.m., it was reported that two police officers were attacked in Skenderaj during a checkpoint, one was wounded by a firearm in the leg and the other was injured by strong tools," it says. in notice.

The police announced that both police officers are out of danger, they have been sent to KKUK for medical treatment.
