Srinagar:

Amarnath Yatra has started after two years.

This journey was affected due to the shadow of Corona for the last two years.

Now that this journey has started again, we are going to introduce you to a story that shows brotherhood, love, Kashmiriyat and shared culture.

In Batakot village of Pahalgam, 95-year-old Ghulam Nabi Malik offers the same prayers as he used to do in the holy cave of Amarnath.

The Amarnath Yatra begins two years later, bringing back old memories of taking his travels and with his family's cave, which was discovered by his great-grandfather Buta Malik.

95-year-old Ghulam Nabi Malik made Amarnath Yatra for 60 years.

He also has the gift that Maharaja Hari Singh gave to him in the holy cave in the year 1947.

Malik narrates his family's association with the Amarnath cave and how the relationship between Hindus and Muslims deepened when, in 1850, Buta Malik discovered the holy cave where snow was naturally frozen in the form of a Shivling. .

Till the year 2005, only the Malik family used to conduct the yatras, but then the Amarnath Shrine Board ended that tradition.

Ghulam Nabi Malik says that maybe 70 years ago I went on a journey with the queen, where we got the worship done.

The queen gave him a plate full of dates.

For the Malik family, Buta Malik is still a revered soul and many spiritual experiences tell of him.

The Malik family says that before the current security rules, the journey of many passengers was not completed until they came to their home.

This year the government has made very strict security arrangements, which is causing problems to both the residents and the tourists.

There is already tight security in the Valley, on top of which 350 additional companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed for the safety of the passengers.

But for Malik and many other Kashmiris, security should not overshadow the visit as it is an example of the shared culture of Kashmir.
