Strong storms and hail caused damage last night in parts of Poland and the Czech Republic, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

Seven people, including two firefighters, were injured in Pomeranian Voivodeship, northern Poland, state news agency PAP reported.

On an intercity road in Chojnice County, a tree fell on a car with five passengers, including two children.

Fire brigade teams have responded to nearly 3,700 calls throughout the country in the last 24 hours.

Most of the incidents were related to fallen trees, damage to roofs of buildings, and two fires caused by lightning.

Nearly 125,000 households are without electricity in Poland, as well as 1,200 in the neighboring Czech Republic, the Czech national news agency CTK reported.
