More than 3,500 people have been evacuated from dangerous areas in Costa Rica due to the tropical storm "Bonni".

According to the news reported by APA with reference to TASS, the Republic's Commission for Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations announced this on Twitter.

"3,536 people are in 54 shelters and have received everything they need," the report says.

The storm moving over the Caribbean Sea passed over Costa Rica on Saturday night.

In some areas, the amount of precipitation reached 220 mm.

There are no reports of deaths or injuries among the population.
