Jagannath Rath Yatra:
The Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath has started by riding on grand chariots with Balaram Dau, sister Subhadra.
Every year a large number of devotees reach Odisha to see this Rath Yatra.
It is considered an opportunity for the devotees to communicate directly with the Lord.
When Jagannath himself leaves his palace to meet his devotees.
On this occasion, so that the crowd of devotees should not face any problem, the Odisha government has started Shri Mandir Parikrama Project.
Old people, children and women should not face any problem in the crowd, nor should the devotees be afraid of stampede, with this objective this project is moving forward.
What are the features of Shrimandir Parikrama Project
The entire space of 75 meters around the temple has been vacated so that devotees can get more space.
It also includes the Meghnad Wall i.e. the outer wall.
All the construction work adjacent to this outer wall of the temple has been removed and this area has been divided into different parts.
These parts have been named as buffer zone, temple parikrama zone, landscape zone, outer parikrama zone and public convenience zone.
Out of this, such a part is also being made in the public convenience zone where many types of facilities will be present.
It will be prepared as a model.
Once it is successful, similar facilities will be extended to other areas as well.
Under these facilities, there will be a place for the devotees to rest, toilets, arrangement of drinking water as well as a room to keep their belongings.
There will also be a security room here.
Devotees' reaction
At present, the work of Shrimandir Parikrama Project has just started.
But, positive feedbacks from devotees have started coming in.
Seeing the openness around the temple, the fear of stampede from their hearts is over.
The arrangement of restrooms and toilets has also provided convenience to the devotees.
It is expected that by the completion of the project, it will become easier for the devotees to participate in the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath.
