Passenger paid service charge of Rs 50 on tea worth Rs 20 in Shatabdi train

New Delhi:

If you are hungry while traveling by plane, then you must have bought something for yourself.

It is possible that you will have to pay a higher price for this.

But this is rarely seen in train travel.

Because during the train journey, things are often found at discounted rates.

From breakfast to lunch and dinner is available in less money.

However, apart from this, a picture of a 'tea bill' during a train journey is going viral on social media.

The reason for this is the rate of tea written in the bill.

On Twitter, users are making many funny and sarcastic comments about the rate of tea.

Actually, a picture shared on social media shows that a train passenger paid ₹ 70 for a cup of tea.

Even more interesting is the service charge on tea.

It is seen in the picture that the passenger paid a service charge of Rs 50 for tea worth Rs 20.

The incident took place when the passenger was going from Delhi to Bhopal in Shatabdi Express train on June 28.

Pictures of tax invoices have gone viral on Twitter.

Let us inform that according to the railways, if a passenger does not pre-order any food while booking an express train ticket, then he will have to pay a service charge of ₹ 50 while ordering something during the ride.

The Indian Railways had issued a circular in 2018, which stated, "If a passenger who has not opted for catering services at the time of booking a ticket and decides to buy food during the journey, he/she will be entitled to a refund of every meal." An additional amount of Rs.50 has been notified for the meals. The catering charges for the meals will be levied by the on-board supervisor of IRCTC."

A circular issued by the Indian Railways back in 2018 states that, when a passenger does not book food while making reservations on trains like Rajdhani or Shatabdi, then paying a service charge of ₹ 50 for ordering tea, coffee or food. Does matter.

Even if it's just a cup of tea.
