The complaint was filed by the PMO two months back and the CBI has now taken over the investigation.

New Delhi:

On the complaint of the Prime Minister's Office, the CBI has registered an FIR against unknown people.

The PMO had said in its complaint that a fraudster, posing as a joint secretary, had sought help from an Indian Police Service officer posted in Chandigarh.

Officials gave this information on Thursday.

The complaint was filed by the Prime Minister's Office two months ago and the CBI has now taken over the investigation.

The FIR registered by the SBI said, "It has been learned that Manoj Kumar Meena, an officer of the Indian Police Service posted in Chandigarh, was approached by a person on mobile (7009808342) and identified himself as Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office. Identified as Rohit Yadav.

Rohit had sought favors from Meena for the transfer of police constables.

It has been said that prima facie this case seems to be a case of PMO officer disguising himself, because no officer had made any call to him nor does any officer have this mobile number.
