In January-April this year, the Star Refinery, built by SOCAR on the Aliaga Peninsula in Turkey, imported 3,574,367,552 tons of oil, which is 17.2% more than a year earlier.

APA-Economics reports quoting the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) that in January-April 2021, the plant imported 3,049,785,851 tons of oil.

Last year, the Star Refinery, built by SOCAR on the Aliaga Peninsula in Turkey, imported 10,012,616.23 tons of oil, which is 1% more than a year earlier.

It should be noted that the main products of the refinery are diesel fuel, jet fuel, naphtha, liquefied petroleum gas, mixed xylene, petroleum coke.

The plant is located on the Aliaga Peninsula, which is of strategic importance in terms of transportation.

Along with the Star oil refinery on the Aliaga Peninsula, SOCAR's Petkim petrochemical complex, wind power plant and SOCAR Terminal, the largest port in the Aegean Sea, operate within a single infrastructure and value chain.
