In the conditions of the enormous increase of the price of electricity in the world stock exchanges, for protection from the increase of the high prices, from July 1, the tariff reform for the calculation of the price of electricity starts.

This means a kind of fair tax, those who spend less will pay less, compared to those who spend more will pay more.

The aim is to encourage the rational and efficient use of electricity.

The new fair tariff is the result of a wide transparent and public debate of experts with the parties involved in the energy sector, it is said in today's announcement of the Government of Northern Macedonia.

"For 98.8 percent of households, the average price of electricity will increase by 7.4 percent.

If the blocks were not placed, this price would have risen by 17.74 percent.

The free tariff remains from 22:00 until 07:00 while the block tariffs are valid only for expensive energy.

The tariff system is directly proportional, dimensioned in the use of consumers ", say from the Government.

Even in the past, they point out, the Government's support to EMV to provide a price of 48 euros per megawatt hour for universal supply for 100% meeting the needs of households and small consumers, enabled the price of electricity for households should not increase by 145%, which means support for each household on average 3,500 denars per month, or 42,000 denars per year.

"If EMV would provide 60% of the legal electricity, another 40% in the free market, as well as the losses of energy companies to be in the free market, then the price would increase by 153%.

But EMV, due to the complex energy situation facing the whole of Europe, provided 100% electricity to households.

It is subsidized and dedicated to citizens in order to protect the standard.

State policy is set to care for the citizens, not for the timely benefits of the energy crisis.

"Instead of selling this surplus of electricity and making a profit, EMV will focus on households," said the government.

From there they add that all energy capacities are maximally engaged.

Government and institutions in the context of the global energy crisis emphasize the need for rational use of electricity and savings.
