NATO will be strengthened in all areas - on land, in the air and at sea.

APA reports that US President Joe Biden said this during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg within the framework of the NATO summit in Madrid.

He said the United States was strengthening NATO forces in Europe, and that the alliance needed it "more than ever" today.

Biden said the United States would increase its military presence in Europe within NATO.

He announced that an additional 20,000 troops would be sent to the eastern flank of the Alliance and that a permanent headquarters of the 5th US Army Corps would be built in Poland.

"Putin wanted Europe to be Finnish, and as a result, he achieved NATO membership.

"Article 5 of the NATO Treaty is inviolable, and we reaffirm our readiness to defend every inch of NATO territory," Biden said.

He added that his country will also strengthen its air defense capabilities in Germany and Italy.

President Biden also announced that two F-35s will be sent to Britain.
