Regarding the information that part of it fell on a block of flats in Vidin, the Executive Agency for Combating Hail clarified that due to the strong storm and wind a piece of one of them after the self-destruct of the rocket was carried away and fell in a residential area.

After the analysis, it was found that the missile was fired from a missile site, which is located at a distance of about 3-4 kilometers from the apartment blocks, said the Ministry of Agriculture.

On June 28, 2022, between 16:30 and 18:30, the Regional Directorate for Hail Control (RDBG) in Vidin carried out impacts in the conditions of a strong and powerful storm, which invaded from the northwest of the territory of Romania and spread to the west.

During the whole time, a total of 206 anti-hail missiles were fired from 11 missile sites of RDBG-Vidin and 6 hail cells were processed.

A total of more than 120 anti-hail missiles were fired at the most powerful cell.

At 19:27 in RDBG-Vidin a call was received from the KOS service for a fallen piece of a rocket in the residential area.

A specialist from the agency was immediately sent, who has the right to handle and transport explosive materials.

After the on-site inspection, it was established that a piece of fired PGR had fallen - the nozzle block and part of it, in which there is no unexploded charge and does not pose a threat to others.

When it fell, the part of the rocket hit the glazing of the balcony of the apartment block, which cracked and broke, and the piece fell on the roof of a garage in the inter-block space.

The representative of the regional directorate in Vidin contacted the owners of the apartment, whose glazing was damaged, and explained the procedure for compensating the damages.

Only on June 28, 2022, a total of 407 anti-hail missiles were fired by the regional directorates of IABG and 28 anti-hail cells were processed.

From the beginning of the active season of anti-hail missile defense in 2022 until today, the agency has carried out 157 impacts, processed a total of 591 city cells and fired 8,190 anti-hail missiles in missile-protected areas.

Each treated city cell means prevented hail and unavoidable damage.
