Ashadha Amavasya 2022:

Bath-donation will be done today on the new moon of the month of Ashadha.

By the way, the date of Ashadh Amavasya has started on 28th June at 5:52 am.

Which will end on 29th June i.e. today at 8:21 pm.

But Amavasya's bath and donation will be done today.

In Hinduism, the Amavasya of the month of Ashadha has a very special religious significance.

It is believed that on this day, the ancestors are pleased by donating and performing Shradh for the ancestors.

Apart from this, this day is also considered auspicious to remove Pitra Dosh and Kaal Sarp Dosh.

This Amavasya is also called Halahari Amavasya.

Ashadha Amavasya Upay

On the day of Halahari Amavasya i.e. Ashadha Amavasya, fasting, bathing, charity and Shradh have special significance.

In such a situation, after taking a bath in the morning on this day, mixing black sesame in water is considered auspicious and performing tarpan for the ancestors. 


It is auspicious to feed Brahmins on Ashadh Amavasya.

They are given charity and dakshina after providing Brahmin food.

Apart from this, giving some portion of food to cow, crow, dog etc. is considered auspicious on this day.

It is believed that this brings happiness and prosperity in the family. 


There is a law to worship Peepal on the day of Ashadh Amavasya.

After worshiping Peepal on this day, a lamp is lit under it.

It is believed that the deities reside in the Peepal tree. 

Deep donation has special significance on the day of Ashadh Amavasya.

Therefore, there is a tradition of donating lamps on this day.

Along with this, the blessings of ancestors are obtained by offering tarpan on this day.

On this day the lamp and flower are floated in water by keeping the leaves in the bowl.

It is believed that by doing this the troubles go away. 


According to religious beliefs, worshiping Lord Shiva on Ashadh Amavasya is particularly fruitful.

Apart from this, worship of Shani Dev and worship of Hanuman ji also gives special results on this day. 

Ashadha Amavasya Pitra Dosh Upay

Worshiping the Peepal tree on the new moon day is considered auspicious.

It is believed that it removes Pitra Dosh.

On this day, circumambulation is done on the Peepal tree by wrapping Kalawa 108 times.

Apart from this, the blessings of ancestors are obtained by placing a lamp of ghee under the peepal. 

After bathing on the day of Ashadh Amavasya, offerings of ancestors are done by mixing black sesame seeds in water.

By doing this facing the south direction, the ancestors are satisfied.


Donation on Ashadh Amavasya has special significance.

After bathing and worshiping, donating clothes and food to the poor while meditating on the ancestors is auspicious.

Due to this, the ancestors are happy and there is happiness in the house.

There is a tradition of planting peepal, bad, gooseberry, neem plants on Halahari Amavasya.

It is believed that after regularly planting these plants, the ancestors are happy by serving them.
