The General Council of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has adopted a resolution on the socio-economic crisis in the country through which the Government Kurti is asked to take six measures to overcome the situation.

AAK recalls that the socio-economic situation in Kosovo is among the worst since 2000, where inflation has reached worrying levels, with prices rising over 30 percent, while the Government has failed with its measures to mitigate this situation.

In such a situation, AAK demands that for a period of three months, all taxes on essential items be removed, such as bread, flour, oil, sugar, dairy products, meat and so on.

For a period of three months to halve taxes on the sale of fuel: oil, gasoline and gas.

The government should rewrite the Law on Minimum Wage, where the amount of 250 euros should be increased to 350 and veterans should be included in this Law.

The Assembly of Kosovo, before going on summer vacation on August 15 this year, to approve the Law on Wages and start its immediate implementation.

AAK also demands the return and approval of the Draft Law on Withdrawal of Trust Funds, as well as the review of contracts for the performance of various works, which were concluded in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and harmonized in accordance with the price increase.

Resolution on the socio-economic crisis

reasoning

The socio-economic situation in Kosovo is one of the worst since 2000. Inflation has reached alarming levels.

Prices in the last year alone, according to statistics, have risen more than 30 percent, while real growth is much greater.

Wages in the public sector have not increased since 2018.

The government has failed with its measures to mitigate this situation.

The "100 euro type" social assistance for employees and students has turned out to be ridiculous.

The refusal to reduce excise and taxes on essential products, especially in the basket, energy and fuel items, have greatly aggravated the situation of citizens.

People are starting to have serious problems with securing existence.

Blocking the withdrawal of 30 percent of the Trust, as an emergency measure to alleviate this situation, has irritated the population.

The law on the minimum wage has turned out to be an ordinary fraud.

The government has set a minimum wage of 250 euros, at a time when not a single person can be found in Kosovo, who today has a salary lower than 250 euros.

The only ones who received less than 250 euros were veterans, but the government excluded them from the minimum wage.

Therefore this law is fictitious, and has no impact on workers in Kosovo.

It was made only for "media show".

The blocking of the Wage Law is another factor that has aggravated the life of the citizen.

The government has decided to freeze the funds and keep them in its coffers.

Hundreds of contracts have been blocked and employees are on the verge of bankruptcy because the government has not reviewed these contracts, as most countries have done, to harmonize them somewhat with prices that have risen enormously.

In such a situation, AAK adopts this resolution:

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo is required to take the following steps:

1. For a period of three months, remove all taxes on essential items, such as bread, flour, oil, sugar, dairy products, meat and so on.

2. For a period of three months to halve the taxes on the sale of fuels: oil, gasoline and gas.

3. To re-draft the Law on Minimum Wage, where the amount of 250 euros is increased to 350 and veterans are included in this Law.

4. The Assembly of Kosovo, before going on summer vacation on August 15 this year, to approve the Law on Wages and start its immediate implementation.

5. To return and approve the Draft Law on Withdrawal of Trust Funds.

6. To review the contracts for the performance of various works, which were concluded in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and to be harmonized in accordance with the price increase.
